If your Avatar requires additional preparation before public deployment or you need to temporarily suspend interactions, you can unpublish it. This action makes the Avatar unavailable to learners and disables public engagement while preserving all existing data and training materials.
Steps to Unpublish Your Avatar
Navigate to the AI Avatars from left navbar
Choose the Avatar you wish to unpublish from the dropdwon on top left.
Click on the Published status dropdown and Unpublish avatar.
After unpublishing, your Avatar will become inaccessible through its public link, and learners will be unable to engage with it.
What Happens When You Unpublish?
- Your AI Avatar will immediately disappear from all public interfaces
- All ongoing conversations with users will be terminated
- The embedded widget will stop appearing on any websites where it was installed
- Your avatar will remain in your dashboard with an "Unpublished" status
- All your training data and configurations are preserved
- User conversation history is maintained for your reference
Republishing Your Avatar
- Navigate to AI Avatars from the left navbar
- Find your unpublished avatar from the dropdown
- Click on Publish on top right
- Your avatar will be live again with all previous settings
Important Considerations
External Websites: If you've embedded your avatar on external websites using the JavaScript snippet, unpublishing will deactivate the widget automatically. You don't need to remove the code.
User Experience: Consider adding a message to your website explaining why your AI assistant is temporarily unavailable if you plan to unpublish for an extended period.
Analytics: While unpublished, your avatar will stop collecting new interaction data, but you can still view historical analytics.
Readiness Score: Unpublishing does not affect your avatar's readiness score. When you republish, your avatar will maintain the same readiness level.
