How can I provide instructions to my avatar?

Custom Instructions are rules or guidelines you set for your AI Avatar to follow while interacting with learners. These instructions help define what your avatar should or should not do during conversations. It's useful for maintaining consistent responses, aligning behaviour with your brand, and setting clear boundaries.

Custom Instructions do not control the tone or personality of the Avatar. Instead, they help guide how it handles different types of questions and situations based on your preferences.

For example, you may want the avatar to avoid answering political questions or keep answers short and direct.

Steps to add instructions:

  1. Navigate to AI Avatars > Profile from the left navbar.

  2. Go to the Behaviour tab.

  3. Scroll down to Custom Instructions.

  4. Enter your instruction and click Add to save.

  5. You can add a maximum of 20 custom instructions.

The purpose of your avatar (Sales, Support, Engage) is set during avatar creation. Custom instructions help further fine-tune how it behaves in specific situations.

Examples of instructions you can add:

  • Be clear, concise, and direct.
Helps the avatar keep responses short and to the point, ideal for busy learners who want quick answers.

  • Do not respond to questions asking for personal opinions.
Ensures the avatar stays neutral and factual, avoiding subjective or emotional replies.

  • Share course pricing information only when asked directly.
Makes sure the avatar doesn't bring up pricing unless the learner specifically asks for it, which can help avoid sounding overly promotional.

These instructions allow your avatar to maintain consistent behaviour aligned with your goals.
