How to remove my AI Avatar?

When you need to temporarily remove your AI Avatar from public view, the unpublish feature allows you to quickly take it offline without deleting any of your training data or configurations. This guide will walk you through the process of unpublishing your avatar and explain what happens afterwards.

How to Unpublish Your Avatar?

• Navigate to your AI Avatar from the left navigation bar

• Locate the green Published button/dropdown in the top-right corner of the screen
• Click the dropdown arrow next to "Published"
• Select Unpublish avatar from the dropdown menu
• A confirmation dialog will appear asking "Unpublish your Avatar?"
• The dialog will inform you: "This will remove your AI Avatar from the live webpage and stop all interactions."
• Click the Unpublish button to confirm

Accessing the Unpublish Option

There are a couple of ways to access the unpublish option:

1. From the Status Dropdown:

   • Look for the green Published button with a dropdown arrow in the top-right corner
   • Click the dropdown arrow
   • Select Unpublish avatar

2. From the Quick Actions Menu:

   • Click on the dropdown menu in the avatar dashboard
   • Look for Unpublish avatar in the menu options
   • This option will be available across all sections while viewing your avatar

What Happens When You Unpublish?

When you unpublish your avatar:

• Your AI Avatar will immediately disappear from all public interfaces
• All ongoing conversations with users will be terminated
• The embedded widget will stop appearing on any websites where it was installed
• Your avatar will remain in your dashboard with an "Unpublished" status
• All your training data and configurations are preserved
• User conversation history is maintained for your reference

Republishing Your Avatar

If you want to make your avatar available again:

1. Navigate to AI Avatars from the left navigation bar
2. Find your unpublished avatar
3. Click the status dropdown (which now shows "Unpublished")
4. Select Publish avatar
5. Your avatar will be live again with all previous settings

Important Considerations

• External Websites: If you've embedded your avatar on external websites using the JavaScript snippet, unpublishing will deactivate the widget automatically. You don't need to remove the code.

• User Experience: Consider adding a message to your website explaining why your AI assistant is temporarily unavailable if you plan to unpublish for an extended period.

• Analytics: While unpublished, your avatar will stop collecting new interaction data, but you can still view historical analytics.

• Readiness Score: Unpublishing does not affect your avatar's readiness score. When you republish, your avatar will maintain the same readiness level.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with unpublishing:

• Avatar still appears: It may take a few minutes for changes to propagate. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser.

• Cannot unpublish: Ensure you have administrator access to the avatar. If problems persist, contact support.

• Republish button missing: Navigate back to the main AI Avatars dashboard and check if your avatar appears there with an "Unpublished" status.
