How to create a course using already uploaded content? – Graphy

Doubtlessly, course creation is a difficult process, but this article will help make your life easier as a course creator.

Graphy offers you an ‘Asset Library’ that stores all the content you have uploaded to your existing courses. The best part is you can re-use that content to create a new course without re-uploading the content.

Steps to create a course by using the items in the Asset Library

Now, click on the ‘Create Course’ button in the upper right corner of your screen. Fill in all the necessary details such as the ‘Title & Instructor’ of the course and then click on the ‘Submit’ button. Within a few seconds, you will get redirected to the course builder.

In order to add content to your course, you can either click on ‘Add New Chapter’ or ‘Add First Chapter’. Once you click on the ‘Add New Chapter’, a new set of options will appear on your screen.

Since you want to create a new course by using the previously uploaded items, click on the ‘Import from Asset Library’ from the options available to you.

Once you click on the ‘Import from Asset Library’, your Asset Library will open.

The library will consist of all the course material you have ever created or uploaded previously.

Now, let's understand the ‘Asset Library’

Search by Name

If you remember the name of the chapter item that you want to add to your course, type the name of that chapter item here in the ’Search Bar’. By doing this, you will be able to add that chapter item to your course.

You can type the name of the chapter item you want to add to your course in the ‘Search Bar’ and click ‘Add’.

Filters

This section is right below the ‘Search Bar’. From here you can apply multiple search filters to narrow down the chapter items in the asset library.

This section proves to be of the utmost importance especially when the number of the chapter items is high.

Here is the list of filters that you can add to your search

Video Type

Course: This filter gives you the option to select the course from which you want to add the chapter item to your new course.

Asset Type: This filter gives you the option to choose the type of asset that you want to add to your new course. It could be a video, audio, PDF, SCORM, and others.

Date Modified: This filter gives you the option to select the date on which you have modified a specific chapter item.

Date Created: This filter allows you to choose the date on which you have uploaded a specific chapter item.

Tags: This filter gives you the option to select the tags.

Video Type: This filter gives you the option to select the type of video. It could be a link, YouTube, Vimeo, and others.

Processing Status: There are two ways of using the ‘Processing Status’ filter.

The ‘Under Process’ option is used when you want to narrow it down to chapter items that are yet to be 100% processed.
The ‘Complete’ option is used when you want to narrow it down to chapter items that are 100% processed.

Number of Files

Below the filters, you can see the total number of chapter items that are available in the asset library.

Example: As highlighted below, ‘1045 files’ denotes that there are a total of 1045 chapter items in the Asset Library.

Checklist

The checklist is used to select the chapter items that you want to add to the course. Click on the checkboxes beside the chapter items you want to add and then click on the ‘Add’ button.

Once you click on the ‘Add’ button, the selected chapter item or chapter items will get added to your new course.
