This article provides a step by step process to send customised messages to your learners through SMS, Web push & Mobile push.
Within your course platform, you can send customised messages and notifications to the learners of your choice. You can either send an SMS directly to learners' mobile number, share the message through web notification or app notification.
Update to App Version 2.6.1 to avail all the features.
Steps to Send Customised Messages to your Learners
Login to your dashboard, select "MARKETING" from the left navigation, then click on "Messenger".
From the resulting page, you can see the three options SMS, Web Push & Mobile Push at the top. On the left side of this messenger panel you, you can see the details of your learners using which you can set up a targeted SMS campaign.
Sending SMS to Learners
Step1: Click on "Send Now" to enable sending SMS to your learners.
Please note that there are only limited free credits which you can use. The number of credits is the number of SMS you can send to your learners within a defined character limit. Within the character limit, 1 credit= 1 SMS. Beyond that, you can purchase them from within your account.
Step 2: Select a campaign name for your SMS.
Step 3: Select your Target audience. You can select one of the given three options & narrow it down further.
a) All Learners: This is for all the learners who have signed up on the platform. Here, you can also add different filters related to learners’ info to narrow down your audience.
b) Course Wise learners: You can select the learners who have purchased one or more specific courses.
c) Segment-wise learners: There are 4 segments of learners involved in a course platform i.e. free, trial, paid & returning.
Step 4: Write your message and click on "Save & Send campaign".
Your SMS Campaign is all set.
Current Update for SMS (Aug, 2020)
SMS service have been temporarily stopped.
According to the latest TRAI guidelines, to send bulk SMS to your learners, you need to register as an Entity. Once your Entity is approved, you need to get approval for your Header(SENDER ID).

Web Push Notification
By default, the web push notification option is disabled within the platform. To start using this feature, open web push & click on "Enable Now".
Please note that you can disable it back anytime in the future using the “disable” option.
After enabling this feature, click on "New Campaign" to create a new web push campaign for your learners.
Step 1: Select a campaign name for your Web Push Notification.
Step 2: Select your Target audience.
You can select one of the given four options & narrow it down further.
a) Unregistered Learners: These are the learners who have signed up but haven’t purchased your course yet.
b) All Learners: This is for all the learners who have signed up on the platform. Here, you can also add different filters related to learners’ info to narrow down your audience.
c) Course Wise learners: You can select the learners who have purchased one or more specific courses.
d) Segment-wise learners: There are 4 segments of learners involved in a course platform i.e. free, trial, paid & returning.
Or, you can custom make a new one which serves your purpose.
Click on "New", just below "Target Audience"
Keep a "Target Audience Name". Next up, select the users you would want to include by typing in their name or E-mail.
Click on "Save" to save all necessary changes.
Step 3: Write your Notification Title name & Message which you want to show to your learners.
Step 4: Add custom icon (200*200) & custom image (600*400) which will be used along with the web push message.
Step 5: Select the Target Link. The Target link is that section of your course platform which your learners will land on once they click on the web push notification.
Here are the following target link types to choose from:
- Notification Screen: The notification section on the app contains all the notifications & updates. By clicking on the mobile push notification, the learner would directly visit the notification section.
- Homepage: To send learners on the home page of your course platform.
- Course/Package Landing page: Select the specific course/package & the learners will directly land on that course page.
- Category Page: Choose the category and your learners will land on the course page belonging to those categories.
- Custom Page: If there is a custom page on your platform, just write the name of that page and select.
- Blog Page: Your learners will directly land on the blog section of your course platform.
- Custom Link: If you want to send your audience somewhere else altogether, just enter the URL & the learners will land there.
Step 6: Select Timing
From this section, you can determine When do you want to send the notification.
a) NOW.
To immediately send the message to your learners, Now > Save & Run.
b) SCHEDULED
In order to schedule the notification at a later date & time, click on
SCHEDULED> Date > Time > Save & Schedule.
c) RECURRING
Under the "RECURRING" notification, you can schedule the notification to be sent multiple times during a given period of time.
RECURRING > Set Beginning Date & Time > Interval > Choose End Date & Time
Example: First push sent on 13/07/2020, 14:20
Send 1 push notification every day.
Until 19/07/2020, 14:20.
Here, the learners will receive one notification every day till 19/07/2020.
After the following settings, click on "Save & Schedule" to save the campaign.
Learners Settings
Once you have scheduled a web push campaign, your learners need to “allow notifications” to order to get your web push.
For this, ask your learners to login to their course platform. Click on the “locked” icon on the top of the address bar, Go to notifications & select “allow”.
Once learners allow notification, they will be able to receive your web push notification. They need to click on “open” in order to go to the landing page of the notification.
Mobile Push Notification
By default, the Mobile Push notification feature is disabled within the platform. To start using this feature, open Mobile Push & click on "Enable Now".
Please note that you can disable it back anytime in the future using the “disable” option.
For further steps, please follow the same steps as stated under "Web Push" campaigns.
That’s how a mobile push notification appears in learners mobile. The small image is the custom icon & the larger one is the custom image.
Learners can also view mobile push notifications from the notification section, within the app.
Check Old Campaigns
You can check all your past campaigns by clicking on "All campaigns". Here you will get all the details of your past campaigns including date, audience, status, and the number of learners whom the message has been "sent" to.
Check Campaign Report
For every campaign you run, you can check its report by clicking on “All Campaigns”, click on “view” under the “Report” you want to check.
In the report, you can check the details of your targeted learners and the status of your notification which can be “sent”.
Copy Past Campaign
You can copy any of your past campaigns from under "Completed Campaigns". Go to your preferred campaign then select "copy" icon under "Actions" & your campaign details will to copied to a brand new campaign.
