This article is a step-by-step guide about how to create sequential learning course content on your course platform.
In a normal course, the learners can access the course items in any order. Admin is also free to update course content even after it is published and available to learners.
Whenever you launch a course on GRAPHY, it's by default a normal course.
However, you have the liberty to turn any of your normal courses into sequential learning courses.
In a Course Sequence, items can only be accessed in the pre-defined order. The learners aren’t allowed to view the subsequent chapters until they have completed the previous ones.
You can even use create a quiz with minimum passing marks in the course content where learners can’t access the next topic until they score minimum passing marks.
How To Create A Drip Course Content
Go to CONTENT > Courses > Course Builder icon of your chosen course.
The Course Builder page will open. Just below the Course Cover, click on "Rules".
If you enable this toggle button, all the course items would only be accessed in sequential order. Learners would need to mark course items as "Completed" to move to the next item.
You can enable this option to make the whole course items sequential.
If you are enabling this feature in an already published course, all previously completed items will remain accessible.
If you enable this toggle button, learners would need to watch at least 90% of the video lesson to move to the next course item.
Example: If the duration of a video lecture is 100 minutes, the learner needs to complete 90 min.
It only works if a sequential learning path is enabled. This feature is compatible only with videos uploaded on the Graphy platform.
After the above changes, click on "submit".
How to make selected course items compulsory rather than making the whole course sequential?
If you don't want to make the whole course item sequential, but want to only selected chapters or sub-chapters compulsory, you can do it too.
Example: If you mark chapter 3 compulsory, here is how it goes:
- Learners can access any of chapter 1 or chapter 2 as per their choice.
- Before moving to chapter 4, they MUST mark "complete" on chapter 3.
- After completing chapter 3, learners can again randomly choose any of the chapters among 4, 5, 6 or so on.
Go to the sub-chapter which you want to mark compulsory.
Click on the 3 dots icon & enable the "Prerequisite" option.
How to keep a Quiz passing criteria before learners move to another chapter?
You can enable learners to compulsorily score a minimum % on Quiz, before moving on to the next chapter.
Example: If you want to keep 60% as a passing criterion. As long as learners won't score at least 60/100, they won't be able to access the next chapter.
Select the Quiz where you want to keep a minimum passing criteria.
Under the "passing percentage", insert % value.
Please note that the "passing %" criteria will limit your learners from moving into the next chapter only when the "sequential learning path" is enabled.
After the above changes, click on "Save".
