This article describes the way to upload high-level mathematical Quiz questions in your Course Builder from Word file.
A Quiz is usually a short test. It is an interesting and engaging way for learners to better understand the nuances of the course. Learners can attempt it at any time and view instant results.
Steps to Create a Quiz:
Open your course in Course Builder and click on "Create New Item" then select "Quiz".
Once you fill up the relevant Quiz information, the next step is to add Questions into the quiz.
Now, you can either create Quiz questions instantly, add directly from your desktop, or Import from the Question Bank.
Bulk Upload Maths Questions
Once you click on "Upload", you will be redirected to the three formats of uploading questions to the particular quiz.
To upload high-quality Mathematical questions, click on "Upload questions with MathType, MathML and other third party plugins content".
Now, you will be redirected to the "Upload Instructions".
In point number 1 of Upload Instructions, click on "sample docx question file" & download the required file.
Steps by Step Instructions
The first step is to download the sample question file, shown above. You need to create the Word document with the same format as shown in the downloaded sample question file.
Please note that if you don't upload the word file in the same format, then it won't be added as the Quiz Questions.
The downloaded sample question file will have a set of instructions which are self-explanatory.
Refer to this guide to understand the Question Format in Detail.
Once you have created the question file in the required Word document format, go to "File" choose "Save As" & select the folder where you want your document to be saved".
After you select the folder, go to "Save As Type" & select "Web Page, Filtered". Alternatively, you can also select, html or .htm.
Through "File Name" option, you can also edit the name of the document.
After doing the above-mentioned changes, head towards the bottom & click on "Tools". Several options will unfold, choose "Web Options...".
After selecting "Web Options...", select "Encoding". Go to "Save this document as", now choose "Unicode (UTF-8)". Check the box which says "Always save Web pages in the default encoding". Now, click on "OK" to save all the above changes.
The final step before uploading is to Zip the above file, especially if the document contains images.
Once you create the file in the pre-defined format as explained above, upload it.
Click on "Choose File" then choose the file from your computer then select "Upload".
If your uploaded document complies with the specified format, then the new questions will be detected by the system.
However, if your uploaded file is not in the predefined format, then the browser will not be able to read the questions. The results will show "Something went wrong".
